What is Microblading
Microblading is a semi permanent technique using color pigment drawn onto the skin giving you natural looking eyebrows. Microblading does not give permanetly tattooed eyebrows. It uses a small blade (made up of tiny needles) that deposits colored pigments in the upper layers of the skin. In this way, micorblading offers a semi-permanent color to the skin. It only last 1-2 years depending on the skin’s retention of colors.
The technique used is natural feathering of hair like strokes creating a beautifully designed brow ideal for your face. We imitate your hair growth into fine lines and fill in any gaps thus defining a 3D definition of your brows that looks naturally fuller and thicker.
The Best Brow Shape For Your Face
The ideal brow shape for your face will make you look rested, bring out your eyes and brighten up your face. Depending on your face shape, we will design the right brow line and arch to suit you.
Jeanie will measure your facial features and bone structure and then draw on the eyebrow with makeup first. You’ll then be able to decide if you like the thickness, the position, the arch and overall look. Only once you feel 100% confident that it’s what you desire should you give your approval. Jeanie will then start the more permanent microblading procedure.
Does Microblading Hurt?
Since microblading only affects the upper layers of the skin, the procedure will be less painful than permanent eyebrow tattoos and is much safer. You’ll receive a prescription for the most effective topical anesthesia available when you undergo the miroblading procedure. But of course, pain is relative. As a point of reference, most clients have said that tweezing their eyebrows is more painful.
There are several things to consider prior to your procedure, no caffeine, no alcohol, do not schedule your appointment around your menstrual cycle as all of these make you more sensitive.
Contraindications include but are not limited to:
Aspirin or products containing aspirin
Medications for any disease like diabetes, lupus or any autoimmune disease
Vitamins or supplements that thin the blood would need to stopped prior to your procedure
If you are under a physician’s care we want to obtain a release written on their prescription note pad stating that it is safe for you to have a procedure performed. Your health care provider will know if you will heal without any complications, if you are prone to infections or have a compromised immune system.
What Will I Look Like After My Procedure
The area will appear darker at first because of the blood and lymph that has been brought to the surface during the permanent makeup application. The procedure area tissue will crust a bit and this tissue will slough off usually within 5-7 days leaving you with a softer color. This will be repeated at your touch-up appointment. The color will fade between 40-70%.
Microblading Aftercare is Crucial
Microblading aftercare is crucial! The microblading itself is only half of the entire process. The other half lies with you after you go home. We require you to use Aquaphor or Vaseline morning and night for the next 7 days following your procedure. Do not use Neosporin, bacitracin or other products because they may cause an allergic reaction on your open skin as well as pull out the pigment.
We will give you full aftercare instructions and you need to follow them exactly to ensure your new beautiful brows are a success. After your procedure, you can call your technician at any time for advice about your brows. We are always happy to provide the best service to our clients.
If you experience any type of redness, irritation or pain, stop using the product and phone your technician who will advise you what to do.
